Kalle is the (co)-creator of various musical projects. You can read more about them on this page.
Bach aan de Kromme Rijn
In August 2020 Kalle organised musical walking tours along the beautiful river Kromme Rijn near Utrecht. During these walks Kalle performed the sixth suite of J.S. Bach and talked with the public about Bach, the suite and his cello. During the walks there was also time to enjoy the beautiful nature. The walks were very enthusiastically received by the audience and so Kalle will organise “Bach aan de Kromme Rijn” in this beautiful area once again this summer .
Bach to Britten
Kalle presents an eclectic solo program of his favourite compositions for cello: the musical journey begins with the beautiful Sixth Suite of Johann Sebastian Bach, followed by the mysterious solo pieces of György Kurtág, and concluding with the characterful First Suite of Benjamin Britten.
Duo le Cointre / de Bie
Composer and jazz pianist Jochem le Cointre and classical cellist Kalle de Bie work together to create a program without limits, presenting music by Scriabin and Dutilleux alongside Miles Davis and the duo’s own improvisations.
ZZP’ers in Lockdown
Videographer Marvin Gierveld made a short item about the work Kalle is doing during the pandemic. You can watch the video here (in Dutch).
Ainsi la nuit
In 2016, Kalle received the “Start-in-Splendor” prize at the National Cello Competition, allowing him to curate his own concert “carte blanche” at the renowned Splendor music venue in Amsterdam. He created a musical and visual journey through the surrealist world of the French composer Henri Dutilleux. Read more on the website of the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam.
